The Black Knight balanced vertical slider secondary glazing is one of our most adaptable designs and is manufactured to replicate the sliding motion of the traditional sash window.
Many millions of houses erected during the Georgian & Victorian periods were built with sash windows and lots of these properties are now protected by Listed Building status or are in Conservation Areas.
The balanced vertical slider is designed to replicate the sliding motion of traditional sash windows and to meet the stringent requirements of the Planning departments.
The individual sashes are supported by pre-tensioned spiral balances that allow the panels to be opened in an infinite number of posiotions.
Where access to the existing sash window is awkward the secondary glazing can be built to incorporate a tilt-in facility that allows the sashes to be pivoted into the room for cleaning and maintenance of the primary window.
The vertical slider secondary glazing design is fully compatible with all the other design types in the range and can be installed in combination to suit your particular window design requirements.
